Blood Bottle Shortages

There is currently an international shortage of blood bottles, affecting blood tests in with the whole NHS inlcuding Hospitals, GP surgeries and Community Healthcare. As a result we have been askesd to suspend all non-essential blood tests.

We will continue to carry out urgent tests, but in some cases we may ask patients to book a follow-up appointment for routine blood tests or even reschedule totally to avoid repeat visits.

We cannot give an exact date for when tests will be rescheduled, but we would like to reassure patients, you will get a test if your condition or symptoms require it. If your condition or symptoms change or get worse, please contact the NHS as you would normally.
